The Tidewater Sports Car Club presents its 2026 Points Event #6, an autocross event held at Virginia Motorsports Park in North Dinwiddie, VA. The TSCC autocross season runs from March through November, and this event is capped at 105 drivers. This is a great opportunity for new participants to get involved with autocross. The event schedule begins with gates opening at 9:00 AM. Registration and Tech inspections run from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A mandatory Novice Meeting and Course Walk will take place at the Start Line from 9:25 AM to 9:55 AM; novice drivers must attend at least one, preferably both. A mandatory Driver's Meeting will be held at the TSCC Timing and Scoring Bus at 10:20 AM, with the first car off at 10:30 AM. The event will take place rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, a decision will be made at the driver’s meeting. Participants will be notified by email if the event is canceled before its scheduled date. The event will be split into two, three, or four heats depending on participation. As a volunteer-run organization, entrants will drive one heat and work another. Every person driving must work the event. Workers should check in at a designated location approximately 15 minutes before their heat for assignments. Failure to work without a valid reason will result in a ban from the next event. A second instance will result in a ban for the remainder of the season. The most common work assignment, especially for novices, is course working, which involves resetting cones. All cars must be fully prepared before tech. This includes checking lug nuts, tire tread depth (at least 2/32” for DOT treaded street tires, no tire shine, no exposed cords), brake pedal pressure and fluid levels, clean windshield/windows, throttle return spring, and wheel bearings. Cars must not have excessive fluid leaks, and batteries must be securely mounted (bungee cords are not authorized). Numbers (at least 8” tall) and class letters (at least 4” tall) must be displayed on both sides of the car. All unnecessary items, including floor mats, loose speakers, items hanging from the rearview mirror, wrappers, tools, spare tire, jack, and other loose items, must be removed from the car and trunk. Helmets must meet one of the following standards: SNELL SA2025, SA2020, SA2015, SA2010, SAH2010, M2025D, M2025R, M2020D, M2020R, M2015, M2010, K2020, K2015, K2010, EA 2016; SFI 31.1/2020, 31.1/2015, 31.1/2010, 41.1/2020, 41.1/2015, 41.1/2010; or FIA 8859-2024, 8859-2024-ABP, 8859-2020, 8860-2018, 8860-2018-ABP, 8859-2015, 8860-2010. TSCC will enforce sound limits per SCCA rules, as detailed in Appendix I of the 2026 SCCA National Solo Rules. Driver and passenger restraints require seat lap belts in all automobiles. Shoulder belts or harnesses are strongly recommended in automobiles with fixed tops or roll bars. Two-strap shoulder harnesses must not be worn in open automobiles without roll bars. Roll bars are strongly recommended in all automobiles and are required in all purpose-built competition cars and open cockpit automobiles using racing (non-D.O.T. approved) tires. All drivers and passengers must possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license; permits requiring another licensed driver are not acceptable. Minor drivers must show permission to operate the automobile. All competitors must sign an online insurance waiver before entering the facility. Minors need a parent or guardian to sign a minor waiver to compete or ride along.
