Spokes is hosting a track sprint event at Harris Hill Raceway in San Marcos, TX. This is not an autocross or a track day. A track sprint involves running a specific portion of the track from a designated standing start to a finish line, without continuous hot laps or cones on the course. We will run in the counter clockwise direction with the start before T11 and the finish along the downhill run from T4 to T3. Expected speeds are 90-100mph on straights and 40-60mph in corners. Electric and hybrid vehicles are not permitted due to Harris Hill Raceway policy. The gate opens at 7:15am. Check-in and tech inspection are from 7:30am to 8:10am. The drivers meeting begins at 8:15am, and the first car is on course at 9:00am. Running ends at 1:15pm, and all participants should be off site by 2:00pm. We will run three heats of approximately 75 minutes each (9:00-10:15, 10:30-11:45, 12:00-1:15), with 33-35 drivers per heat. The goal is to provide four runs per driver. Entry fees are $80 for Spokes members and $95 for non-members. Working positions will include a starter, grid workers, computer operators, and radio workers in the trailer and at other radio locations; more details will follow. Penalties for going off track include a DNF for two wheels off, and losing a subsequent run for four wheels off. A second four wheels off incident will result in being done for the event. If you spin out, recover quickly as cars will be sent every 25-30 seconds. If you see a spun or off-track car ahead, slow down and you will receive a re-run. Pay attention to flaggers at the flagging stations.
