Skidpad Car Control and Autocross Fun Runs

The Road Potomac Car Control Clinic offers a wet skidpad experience and dry autocross fun runs at Summit Point Motorsports Park's Potomac Pad. This all day event costs $375 per person and will be held from 7:45 AM to 5:30 PM. Attendees must be at least 16 years old. The event focuses on car control techniques. The wet skidpad allows drivers to practice recognizing and recovering from understeer and oversteer at speeds of 35 mph or less. Beginners will be grouped with one other car on the skidpad, while advanced students will be grouped with up to three cars. Approximately 50 minutes of skidpad time is allotted per driver. The dry autocross fun runs are untimed and non-competitive, designed to apply the car control skills learned on the skidpad. Approximately 20 fun runs are allotted per driver. In-car instruction is provided until skill level is determined. Please note, the skidpad may leave vehicles dirty. Registration is from 7:45 AM to 8:15 AM, followed by a briefing. The skidpad will be active from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. A helmet is required for the fun runs only; helmets are not needed for the skidpad portion. Helmets are available to rent for $50. Summit Point Motorsports Park does not permit electric or hybrid vehicles in any motorsport discipline, so these vehicles cannot be used for this event.
