Skidpad Car Control and Autocross Fun Runs

Road Potomac presents a Car Control Clinic and Autocross Fun Runs at Summit Point Motorsports Park's Potomac Pad. This all day event on the wet skidpad and dry autocross course is designed to help drivers understand and correct for understeer and oversteer. The event runs from 7:45 AM to 5:30 PM. The wet skidpad allows participants to practice recognizing and recovering from understeer and oversteer at speeds of 35 mph or less. Beginners will be grouped with one other car on the skidpad, while advanced students will be grouped with up to three cars. You can expect approximately 50 minutes of skidpad time per driver. After the skidpad, drivers can apply these skills in approximately 20 dry autocross fun runs. These fun runs are not timed or competitive. Breakfast and lunch are provided, but the organizers cannot accommodate dietary restrictions. Please note that the skidpad portion of the event will make cars dirty. The cost for the event is $375 per person. Participants must be at least 16 years old. A helmet is required for the fun runs only; it is not needed for the skidpad portion. Helmets are available for rent for $50. In-car instruction will be provided to all participants until skill level is determined. Registration and check-in are from 7:45 AM to 8:15 AM, followed by a briefing from 8:15 AM to 8:30 AM. The skidpad will be active from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Once payment is charged, there are no refunds. Summit Point does not permit EVs or hybrids in any motorsport discipline, so these vehicles cannot be accepted for this event.
