Pocono Autocross - PCA #5 is a one day autocross event held at Pocono Raceway, Long Pond, PA, on Sunday, September 27. The entry fee is $95 for all drivers. Registration is limited to approximately 80 entrants. There is no on-site registration. This event runs rain or shine. The event takes place on the East Course (infield only) at Pocono Raceway, utilizing traffic cones to create courses that are typically about one mile long and take 65-75 seconds to complete. The goal is at least six runs per driver. All drivers will have a mandatory work assignment lasting between 1.5 and 2 hours. Porsche cars are classed according to PCA rules, and non-Porsches register in X class. SCCA PAX modifiers are available for all cars. "FUN" class is available for Porsches only and is non-competitive. Instructors will be available to coach novices. The schedule begins with car preparation at 7:30 AM. Registration check-in and waiver signing are from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the tent. The course opens for walking at 8:15 AM and closes at 9:15 AM. Roving tech inspection begins at 8:30 AM. An optional novice course walk with an instructor is at 9:00 AM. The mandatory drivers' meeting is at 9:20 AM, with the first car off at 9:45 AM. All drivers must be 18 years of age with a valid driver's license. Sons and daughters of PCA members aged 16/17 with a valid full driver's license may participate in the Junior Participation Program (JPP). One car per driver is allowed, with a maximum of two drivers per car. All cars must pass an on-site tech inspection. Helmets must be Snell 2010 approved or newer (M or SA). Car numbers must be clearly marked in contrasting color, at least 6 inches tall, on both sides of the car. All drivers and instructors must wear seatbelts. Open-toed shoes, sandals, and bare feet are not permitted; rubber-soled shoes are recommended. Loose objects must be removed from the car's interior. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and dogs must be leashed. No alcoholic beverages or drugs are permitted.
