Season 5, Event 9 is a points event held at The Sandlot in Gadsden, AL. Registration and tech inspection are open from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. The course opens for walking from 8:45 AM to 9:15 AM. A mandatory novice course walk and meeting is scheduled for 9:15 AM; participants who miss this meeting will not be allowed to run. The mandatory driver meeting is at 9:30 AM, with the first car on course at 10:00 AM. This event will run rain or shine and is capped at 50 cars. Participants must have a valid driver's license and will receive a free GRIP sticker. Passengers are welcome, but a $10 grid access fee applies for ride-alongs and grid access. All participants must sign the current waiver form. Participants under 18 require a current "Minor Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement" signed by both parents. Riders aged 13 to 18 also need a minor waiver signed by both parents or guardians; this can be sent prior to the event upon request. Spectators are welcome and can use the bleachers in the new spectator viewing area or bring their own chairs and tents. Everyone must sign in and get a wristband for confirmation. For tech inspection, vehicles must pass an on-site inspection. Participants should open their hood, trunk, and unlock doors upon arrival. Cars must be emptied, including driver floor mats, and have numbers applied before inspection. Tech inspection runs from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. After passing tech, a sticker will be placed on the windshield and the hood will be shut. Workers will have one assignment: shagging cones, and will be compensated. Car numbers should be approximately 8 inches tall and displayed on both doors, along with the class and modifier. Your chosen car number is reserved for the entire season. For custom number stickers or magnetic plates, contact Jermey at 256-312-4322. Vehicle requirements include production-based vehicles and tires with a treadwear rating of 200 or more. Tires under 200 treadwear are only eligible for the Exhibition Class. Competition classes are determined by front tire width: Small Tire Class (S) for 255mm or narrower, and Big Tire Class (B) for 265mm or wider. Both require a minimum vehicle weight, including driver. The Truck Class (T) has specific width-to-height and weight requirements. Ladies Class (L) is a supplementary class for female drivers, and Novice Class (N) is for first-year drivers or those with fewer than three Novice Class wins. The Exhibition Class is for vehicles not meeting tire or weight requirements and is not eligible for awards. Unsafe behavior, alcohol, and drugs are prohibited. No pets are allowed.
