SCDA hosts its final Thompson Speedway event of the 2026 season on Sunday, October 18th, from 11:30 AM to 6:30 PM. The event focuses on driver skill improvement, safety, education, and quality track time, offering 4-5 track sessions and an open track period at the end of the day. This event is open to Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced drivers. In-car instruction is available for Novice drivers, and professional classroom sessions are provided for all groups. Race car rentals are also available. The track features a mix of straights, challenging corners, and elevation changes. Run groups are organized by experience level. The Novice (Green Group) is for drivers with 0-5 events and requires an in-car instructor, with a lead-shadow option. Intermediate 1 (Blue Group) requires prior experience and instructor sign-off (minimum 5 events). Intermediate 2 (White Group) is for experienced solo drivers with 20 or more track events. The Advanced (Red Group) is for the highest level of drivers with years of track experience, where passing is permitted anywhere with a point-by. Entry fees are $449 for Intermediate and Advanced Drivers, and $599 for Novice Drivers, which includes in-car instruction. Discounts include $50 off for Porsche, Audi, or VW drivers, a $50 early registration discount two months prior, and a $25 early registration discount one month prior. Discounts may not be combined. The age requirement is 18 and older, or 16-17 with a parental waiver. Helmets must be SNELL SA2020 or newer, and motorcycle helmets are not permitted. Closed face helmets with visors are required for convertibles. Helmet rentals are available. Clothing requirements for street cars include long-sleeve shirts, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. Race cars require an FIA or SFI rated race suit, gloves, and race shoes. SUVs, trucks, and motorcycles are not allowed. The sound limit is 103db. All vehicles must pass a tech inspection, and drivers are responsible for any track damage. Convertibles must have a fixed roll bar and pass the broomstick test. Amenities include paddock space for personal tents, canopies, and trailers. Load-in is available after 6 PM on Thursday. Limited overnight parking outside the main gate is available for camping. Food and fuel (93, 98, or 100 Unleaded; leaded fuel may be available) are offered on-site.
