PCA Chesapeake Autocross #4 is a performance driving event held at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, MD. This event emphasizes your car's handling as you navigate a course delineated by soft orange traffic cones. Speeds typically range from 25-70 MPH, usually in second gear. Autocross is an opportunity to experience driving your car at its limit, gain confidence in your driving ability, learn the limits of your car's brakes and handling, and practice correct seating, hand, and feet positions for optimum car control. Autocross is also a social gathering for new and old friends. The venue opens at 7:00 AM, with registration and tech inspection beginning at 7:30 AM. The course opens for walking at 8:30 AM, and registration and tech close at 8:30 AM. A guided course walk will take place from 8:30 AM to 8:50 AM, followed by a driver meeting from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM. The first car will be off at 9:30 AM, with the event concluding around 3:30 PM. Entry fees are $60 for PCA members and $70 for non-PCA members. All makes and models are welcome. Registration is capped at 80 drivers, and there are no walk-ups available for this event; online payment is required for pre-registration. For those interested but unsure about participating, a "Taste of Autocross" is available for $5, offering multiple runs with instructors. To take advantage of this, show up on event day and see the organizers at the trailer. Classing for non-Porsches follows SCCA rules, and Porsche classes are divided into Showroom stock (S), Production (P), Improved (I), and Modified (M). Noise levels will be monitored and must remain below 108 dBc per SCCA measurement protocols.
