Open Car Day at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway is scheduled for October 24, 2026, offering a safe, open track experience for all makes and models. Drivers can bring any car, from a modified station wagon to a Porsche, to drive on the main track. The event features three driver groups: Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. Novice drivers have no prior experience or have only driven with an instructor. Intermediate drivers have solo experience on other tracks or have completed at least two Novice events at TGPR. Advanced drivers have participated in five or more TGPR events or numerous solo events with other organizations. Private instruction, either as an instructor or student, is strictly prohibited due to TGPR’s insurance policy and will result in dismissal without a refund. Early Bird pricing is $170 per driver. A $20 late fee applies for registrations within 14 days of the event, and a $25 fee applies for trackside registrations on the event day. One driver pays the full registration fee, and additional drivers for the same car in the same skill group can register at a reduced rate at the gate. Drivers in different skill groups must each pay the full registration fee. Electric vehicles and hybrids are not permitted to participate in the event or be charged on TGPR property due to safety concerns. For clothing, natural fiber clothing and long pants are recommended but optional. Footwear must cover the entire foot. Helmets must be DOT approved and manufactured within the last 5 years. Refunds, minus a 15% administration fee, are available for written requests received 14 or more days before the event. Credit will be issued for written requests received 7 or more days prior to the event; credit cannot be transferred, applied to completed orders, or used after 6 months from issuance. No cancellations, refunds, or credits are available within 7 days of the event.
