Registration for NASA at Firebird Raceway opens on September 21, 2026. This event features several run groups including HPDE1 for beginners with classroom instruction and one-on-one in-car coaching, HPDE2 for novice drivers, HPDE3 for intermediate drivers, and HPDE4 for advanced drivers. Passing rules vary by HPDE group, from main straights only with point-bys in HPDE1 to open passing with courtesy expected in HPDE4. Other competitive sessions are available on Sunday. Time Attack is offered for drivers in HPDE3 or above for $30, which includes a transponder rental, or for $20 without a transponder rental. Both Time Attack options involve three laps: one warm-up and two hot laps, with the fastest lap counting. Time Attack must be combined with an HPDE3, HPDE4, Time Trial, or Race Group entry. The event also includes Time Trial (TT) for competitive lap times, requiring a valid NASA Time Trial or NASA Competition license. The Race Group offers wheel-to-wheel racing for licensed competitors, requiring a valid NASA Competition Racing License. For complete details, visit the event page.
