Registration is open for the Jim Busby PNWR TechEd on Saturday, October 24th, at Chris's German Auto Service in Redmond, WA. Doors open at 8:00 am, the program begins at 9:30 am, and the program ends at 1:15 pm. An autograph session follows, ending at 2:15 pm, and the TechEd concludes at 2:30 pm. This TechEd focuses on Jim Busby's racing stories, from his roots in 1960s Southern California hot rod and drag racing culture to his road racing career with Dan Gurney's All-American Racers. Attendees will hear about his successes racing Porsche 911s and 935s, including a Group 5 class win at Le Mans in 1978 and a 924 GTR class win in 1982. The discussion will also cover wins at Mid-Ohio, Riverside, and the 24 Hours of Daytona, his role in developing the carbon fiber bodied Porsche 962, and his work with Clienti Ferrari. A Q&A session will be included. The event is a charity event supporting an automotive scholarship. The cost is $59.00 per person, and students pay $15.00 at the door. Coffee, donuts, and refreshments are included in the price. The event is open to the public; you do not need to be a PCA or PNWR member to attend.
