The Introduction to Performance Driving course provides a safe and fun way to explore the limits of driving skills and vehicles while introducing participants to performance driving and motorsports. This course teaches the essentials for safely lapping a car on the racetrack and auto slalom course through both classroom and in-car instruction. Participants will receive two hours of online classroom instruction covering essential skills such as seating position, vision, steering, and footwork. The experience includes up to four hours of on-track practical application in a personal vehicle, ride-along hot laps with instructors, 1:1 private in-car instruction, and a detailed instructor evaluation and development plan. The day also features on-track exercises, challenge activities, and open lapping time to practice skills. A catered lunch is provided. The tentative day's agenda begins at 8:00 AM with arrival and registration, followed by instructor meetings and preparation at 9:00 AM. The first on-track session starts at 9:30 AM, with subsequent sessions and a lunch break at 12:00 PM. Open lapping with ad hoc instruction runs from 3:00 PM, and the day concludes at 4:45 PM. Helmets are not required but are highly suggested; however, they are mandatory for convertibles and cars with aftermarket roll bars. Participants will drive their own vehicles, which must be mechanically fit for track use. This includes recently topped up and changed oil, brakes checked and fluid flushed within the last 12 months, and tires with good tread and no damage. Vehicles must have a full tank of fuel as no fuel is available on site. Participants must be a minimum of 16 years of age and hold a G1 license.
