The California Central Coast Region of the Porsche Club of America presents Autocross, Teststrecke 79, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Santa Maria Airport. This competitive driving event will be limited to 60 participants and typically sells out quickly. Autocross is an all forward gear competitive driving event where one vehicle at a time is timed on a defined closed course. The event emphasizes handling and agility over speed, taking place in lower gears. More than one vehicle may be on the course simultaneously, provided they do not run in proximity to each other. Official timing will be provided for each lap, with penalties for course deviations or hit cones. Awards will be given for finishing positions in class or overall at the end of the year. Due to the inability of the local Fire Department to extinguish lithium battery fires, full electric cars (EVs) are not eligible to participate; hybrid (gas and electric) vehicles are eligible. Registration opens for PCA entrants on July 27, 2026, and for all entrants on August 10, 2026. If the event is full, you will be placed on a waitlist and will not be charged until an opening occurs. If an opening becomes available, the next person on the waitlist by original registration date and time will be notified, and the spot will then be filled on a first come, first served basis. Volunteer workers must sign up on MSR. Bring your own lunch, as there will be no caterer on site. Free water is available at the timing trailer. The minimum age to participate in an autocross is 18 years old. Participants 16 and 17 years old are allowed with a signed Parental Waiver and accompanying parent. Minors 15 years of age and younger may attend as observers only, provided both parents (or one parent/guardian) sign the "Waiver and Release of Liability and Indemnity Agreement for Minors as Observers Only." Minors cannot be admitted to any hot or restricted areas and must remain under the supervision of a parent or guardian at all times in the vehicle parking area, wearing an appropriate wristband. The only entry and exit point for the airport is the gate on the north end of South Blosser road. The gate will remain closed for the duration of the event.
