The Castle Hot Springs Off-Road Driving Tour is a 36-mile off-road tour through the Bradshaw Mountains. The trail is rated PCA Trail Category 1, meaning it is a year-round maintained road with gravel wide enough for two-way traffic. There are no off-camber turns, climbing over boulders, or road erosion. Two-wheel drive vehicles can complete this trail. This tour is scheduled for less than 3 hours and will conclude at Dillon’s BBQ at the Western Trails Ranch in Morristown, where participants will order off the menu and pay their own checks. All drivers must register themselves and any passengers as guest registrants. Drivers must be adults over 18 with a valid driver’s license and be active PCA members of any region. Minor passengers are allowed, but their parent(s) must complete and sign a PCA Minor Waiver Form for each minor child. These forms will be available at the staging point. All adults must sign a waiver and release of liability form. An Arizona State Land Department Recreational Permit is required for each participant, not just drivers. Refer to the provided instructions to obtain permits for yourself and any passengers. Meet at 8:00 AM in the parking lot behind The First Watch Restaurant, located at 34948 N. North Valley Parkway, Phoenix, AZ 85086, at Carefree Highway and Interstate 17. Look for the blue Jeep. Two-way radio communication is used for trail safety and to relay information. The radio channel is FRS/GMRS Channel 18 (462.625 MHz) with Privacy Tone/Nuisance-Interference Eliminator Code: CTCSS 31 (192.8Hz). Participants without a two-way radio can monitor communications by tuning their vehicle radio to 96.5 MHz FM. Dress and prepare for the warm, dry desert environment. Bring any necessary provisions in case of a prolonged or unplanned period on the trail. A vehicle self-inspection checklist is provided for driver information; it is not required for submission.
