Badger Bimmers presents a High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) Day at Blackhawk Farms Raceway on Monday, August 10, 2026. This event offers students and instructors four 25-minute on-track sessions at the 1.95 mile, 7-turn private circuit in South Beloit, Illinois. Novice and new intermediate students will receive a personal in-car instructor and additional classroom instruction focusing on high performance car control and navigating the Blackhawk Farms track. Advanced drivers and instructors will experience a more open-lapping style during their sessions. An "Introduction to DE" option is available for $50, which includes novice classroom instruction and a ride in an instructor's car, but no on-track driving. All participants must be members of the BMW CCA; ownership of a BMW or Badger Bimmer chapter membership is not required. Open top cars must meet BMW CCA rules, including a minimum 4-point roll bar certified by a recognized sanctioning body log book or race car fabrication shop inspection. Cars with soft or no tops require arm restraints for the driver and instructor. "Targa" style cars with removable roof panels must have their roof panels installed, and cars with factory folding convertible hardtops are allowed if the top remains up and secured. Contact DEC@badgerbimmers.org to verify open top car technical requirements before registering. Registration fees are as follows: Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced group students pay $249 through May 31, $299 from June 1 to July 17, and $349 from July 18 until groups are filled. Instructor fees are $149, or free for non-driving instructors; email DEC@badgerbimmers.org for an instructor code before registering. A $2 MSR checkout fee applies, which may be waived for Hagerty Drivers Club members. This $2 fee is not refunded upon cancellation. Refunds for cancellations before July 26 will be issued for the amount paid minus a $75 processing fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after July 26, 2026. Participants must bring a completed tech/info form, valid driver's license, and helmet to registration on event day. For first-time driving event participants, a helpful hints document is available for download.
