ALSCCA Autocross Points 8 takes place on September 5th at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL. This autocross event requires all registration and payments to be completed online. Registration closes at 5 PM on the Wednesday before the event, with a cap of 90 entrants. SCCA members will receive waitlist priority and benefit from flexibility regarding cancellations and last minute registrations. The event schedule is as follows: Gates open at 7:00 AM, with Tech from 7:15 AM to 8:30 AM. Check-in and Registration at Waivers runs from 7:00 AM to 8:15 AM. The course is open for walking from 7:15 AM to 8:30 AM, with no new walks after 8:20 AM. A mandatory Novice Walk for first and second time participants begins at 8:00 AM. A mandatory Driver's Meeting for all participants will be conducted via PA at 8:45 AM. Workers will go to stations and competitors to grid at 8:55 AM, with the first car off at 9:00 AM. A lunch break is scheduled for approximately 12:00 PM, and course clean-up and trophy presentation will occur around 4:30 PM. Registration fees are $70 for SCCA Members and first-time participants, and $90 for non-members, which includes a $25 fee for a weekend SCCA membership required by event insurance. Loaner helmets will be available; an approved helmet must be worn if you are riding or driving a car. Everyone on site must sign waivers for both Barber's and ALSCCA. Minor waivers must be correctly completed, notarized, and printed in color prior to the event, and a guardian must be present to sign the Barber's waiver at the credentials building on event morning. Minors under 12 are not permitted to ride on course or be present in a competitive hot area. Spectators and visitors are welcome but must also fill out waivers and wear the appropriate wristband. Entrants are responsible for their guests. Passengers are permitted. Non-entrant passengers must be SCCA members or complete a free trial membership form available at the trailer and waiver station. The skidpad will be used for gridding; jacks and jackstands are not permitted on the skidpad. This event will run rain or shine. All participants are expected to work, which may include resetting cones and standing for extended periods. Entrants will be responsible for reimbursing Barber for any damage resulting from an off-course run. Any tire off course during a run will result in a DNF for that run.
