Vehicle Description

This Factory Five Racing Type 65 Coupe is a Daytona coupe replica built in 2019 and acquired by the seller in 2022. Power is provided by a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 paired with a Getrag six-speed manual transmission, and the car is finished in orange with black center stripes. Equipment includes 18″ American Racing wheels, Wilwood brakes, Koni coilover dampers, and a Ford 8.8″ rear end in addition to LED exterior lighting, Vintage Air air conditioning and heat, a backup camera, fixed-back bucket seats, and configurable gauges. This Type 65 Coupe is now offered with a fitted car cover, build photos, and an Indiana title that lists the car as a 1965 model year Factory Five.

The Factory Five Racing Type 65 Coupe features fiberglass bodywork over a jig-welded tube frame, and this third-generation example is said to be finished in PPG-sourced “Sun Kissed” paint with black center stripes. Exterior details include LED lighting, a bullet-style mirror, side-exit exhaust pipes, a rear spoiler, and fog lights with integrated turn signals in addition to shaved drip rails, door handles, and windshield wipers. The seller notes that the car is not equipped with side windows and that the windshield and rear window are tinted. Close-up photos of paint blemishes are shown in the gallery below.

Black-finished 18″ American Racing wheels are wrapped in 255/35 front and 315/30 rear Yokohama Advan A052 tires. Power steering is provided by a KRC pump. The front suspension is equipped with tubular upper and lower control arms, and the solid rear axle features a three-link suspension with a Panhard bar. Koni coilovers are fitted at all four corners. Stopping power is provided by Wilwood six-piston front and four-piston rear brake calipers over slotted and cross-drilled rotors.

The cabin houses a roll bar and a pair of fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in black upholstery with red diamond-stitched inserts that extend to the transmission tunnel, door panels, and headrests. The aluminum panels are said to be lined with sound-deadening material, and additional equipment includes a Vintage Air A/C and heater, Cipher Auto racing harnesses, a fabricated short-throw shifter, an LED dome light, and an aluminum shifter bezel and door sills. An infotainment screen is linked to a backup camera and Alpine audio components. A battery cutoff switch, charging port, and jump posts are located in the rear hatch. The hatch struts were replaced in December 2022.

The 5.0-liter Coyote V8 is paired with a Getrag MT82 six-speed manual transmission, both of which are said to have been sourced from a 2016 Mustang GT. The seller notes that the engine main and rod bearings were replaced prior to installation, and a Ford Performance Control Pack was installed in 2022. Additional equipment includes a K&N cold-air intake, a body-color engine cover, an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, and stainless-steel headers that merge into ceramic-coated side pipes. Catalytic converters are not installed. The control unit for the shift light is located under the hood. A graph showing the results of a dynamometer run is presented in the gallery below. Service in preparation for the sale included bleeding the clutch, changing the oil, repairing a coolant leak, and repairing an air conditioning leak before servicing the system.
